Google’s GMail Email service announced this week a new feature: basically it is Beer Goggles for Late Night Emails.
According to the Official Gmail Blog, “by default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you’re most likely to need it.”
Basically, activating this feature (you can change to whatever settings you want) will force you to answer some math questions before you can send the email … this is designed both to show you that your mental state might not be right at the time and to make you think longer before you hit the dreaded “Send” button.
What we REALLY need this for is for drunken late-night text messages and Facebook/Myspace messages — that’s a service I could have really used many times. I mean, who hasn’t had “Text Regret” the next day…
Those wacky little harmless guys from Google, taking over the world one innovation at a time.
Here is their official blog entry.
